Glycolic Acid Toner & Liquid Gold

Don’t be scared, because these can change your skin completely! I started using Toners and masks with glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid about a year ago and although you can use them every day or every other day they come in best when your skin is crazy because of stress, hormones, lack of sleep etc.

I use them only at night, every other evening after cleansing with a nice, thick balm and this is important: no follow-up skincare (maybe spray toner but that’s it). Use it over blemishes and even dry areas but not over dermatitis!

Feel the slight tingle on your skin (if you just popped a zit maybe you get a more intense reaction but this should stop in a second) then got to bed and have a good night’s rest to wake up in the morning and look at your less flaky if you’re dry, more even, less congested if you’re pimply and more glowing skin!

Then cleanse with a light milk or gel and use a hydrating serum, moisturizer and SPF (important especially with glycolic acid). The great thing is that it helps with so various skin issues that it gets rid of my dry patches and at the same time tackles my spots, so I’m letting my skin breathe nearly product free while still working on it – I love this no product-overload concept! If you have more problems with spots though, try the mild clarifying lotion from Clinique with salicylic acid – mild doesn’t mean it is not that potent it just won’t dry out your skin as much.

So one night is “slather-in-oil” and the other is “light-as-water”. I love it, skin loves it and if you still have some dirt stuck in your pores try clay masks with acid in them, the neutrogena visibly clear one with salicylic acid is great for more spot-prone skin, the ones from Cattier with red and yellow clay containing lactic acid are nice for dryer and sensitive skin – If you are sensitive/dry/dehydrated use them in the shower the steam won’t let them dry down fully while warmth/humidity are good for your skin a the same time!

I’m going to repurchase the Liquid Gold because it’s just the best but if you have discoverd a better one let me know, I’m always curious!
