Walking into the bodyshop in Hamburg’s main station I was set on trying one of the then new masks, the smell of this made decision quick and I have since used it at least once a week as a little wellness pamper.
The smell of this is fresh and zingy (just go sniff for yourself for lack of proper description) it looks quite plain in the pot but it’s not just white paste, thank god. There’s some fruit flesh which I assume comes from the Luffa fruit but correct me if I’m wrong, so for everyone who likes a little scrubbing action on their face just take it off in circular motions. The Luffa plant is also known to be anti-inflammatory.
As it’s base is clay I use it when my skin is spotty or because of the fruity part, I also use it when I need a pick-me-up (perfect for hormone-craze-phase), put it on before showering leave it and rinse last thing before you get out (especially with dry skin, so the mask doesn’t dry down fully) then use your serum / oil or what have you.
Even though the ingredients don’t fully win me over (four sorts of alcohol, Menthoxypropanediol) there are still the good things (glycerin, sesame seed oil, salicylic acid) and it works very well for my skin – no dryness afterwards but soft and clean feeling skin.
I don’t regret paying a the 18€ for this but if you want a more affordable mask, go try everyone from Cartier – there’re great, plus the color in the clay makes it more fun!
